My Fiancee wants to trade in her 2010 VW CC because of all the reliability problems it's been having. We are looking at a budget of around 20k (preferably under). She wants 4 doors with lots of features. She didn't like my suggestion of a NA Miata.

Used certified Mazda 6 or Mazda 3?

with an under 20k price point fully loaded, you are looking at a CPO midsize. Think Fusion, Camry, Accord, Sonata, Hyundai Azire?, Kia Optima?

Define 'lots of features'? What in particular does she want?
I'm thinking late-2000s Altima. It will be under your budget, better fuel economy, possibly safer, more reliable, and probably nicer than the CC, despite how much more expensive the CC is.
...also looks better. Suspension and ride comfort might be the only thing that the CC wins out on, but the Altima does have some killer-good seats if you're small (not so great if you're big or tall).
(I really don't like the CC, FYI!)

2-3 YO VW Jetta SE. They're not true midsizes, but they offer a lot of goodies, like sunroofs, satnav, heated seats... They're also good driver's cars. the 5-speed manual is good, but the 6 speed tiptonic is nothing to sneeze at in sport mode

A new Mazda 3 with a couple of options ticked off might keep it under 20k.

The new Ford Fusion is pretty fantastic, so maybe a used one. Fiesta ST? Cruze Diesel? The new Mazda 6s are also good.
